Pink is the only name I could conceive of being nominated and New Pornographers are the only act in this list with a Hall worthy catalog, arguably the most influential name here although Linkin Park, Interpol and Ryan Adams were super important as well. This list is for artists who are newly eligible in 2025, meaning their first release came out in 2000. If the band or artist's first release came out prior to 2000, like many of the names mentioned here like Styx, Chubby Checker, Scorpions, etc., they won't be on this list, they'll be under the lists from earlier years. Why is America not on this list? America should already be in the hall of fame. What did America not do to get into hall of fame or what they did to keep themselves out? They had many hits. How do you judge who goes in? I know America has done as much as some of those that are in. I always wondered why Cool and the gang was not in and finally someone there found out they weren't in. Cher and Dionne should have been there a long time ago. I'm so glad of that class as so many felt that way as well America should be in before they are gone. In my opinion, the R&R HoF lost its purpose many years ago. On this list of artists who are eligible for induction in 2025, I see maybe two or three that MIGHT deserve to be in a 'hall of fame'. These are just a bunch of commercially successful artists - not 'all time greats'' by any means. The R&R HoF has left SO MANY 'all time greats' in the dustbin - passed over, ignored, forgotten. How is it even possible that you have only two early Boogie Woogie pianists in the Hall? Boogie Woogie is where R&R was born!! This list of 2025-eligible artists is just a list of 2nd-tier pop acts. The list of past "snubbed" artists is so long that these wannabes should expect to wait at least another 15 years or so for consideration. Those artists that Troy Smith listed in his Axios article should DEFINITELY become enshrined before ANY of these 'opening acts'. R&R HoF: what are you thinking?? New Edition at this point should get a nod on Merit for musical excellence in the era of boy bands. With the changing of the guards from the years of the 60's and 70's, New Edition ushered in the progression of the boy bands of the 80's and 90's where all members individually had success outside of the core group.
