13 comments so far (post your own)don't know...i think it's too early to tell..she's talented but not so fantastic! Posted by elisabetta on Sunday, 01/20/2013 @ 13:29pm |
People are so jaded by bad pop swill that now they're saying ADELE is talented? Seriously? She doesn't do anything that hasn't already been done. Not to mention the lyrics of the songs on 21 sound like they came off a teenage girl's LiveJournal. No, Adele should not get in Posted by Marth on Monday, 01/21/2013 @ 18:43pm |
Marth, you have no taste, the songs on both her albums are extremely well written and mature, some could have came strait from the 70s, I would even put their quality above much of the sappy crap from that era. But I did not come here to reply to your poor taste, but rather to highlight the most sucessful artist, and fastest grown legend status of the new decade so far. "she is the front (so far) along with Amy Winehouse and numerous boybands of third British Musical Invasion of the US" Posted by GFW on Wednesday, 01/30/2013 @ 11:48am |
These days, music has taken a nose dive with too many artists relying on technology and using auto-tuning but, Adele relies on the power of her voice. In my mind, the only other female singer who has that powerful of a voice is Janis Joplin. Songs like "Rolling In The Deep" show how someone can use thier voice to great effect without using any sort of technology. Posted by Andrew on Wednesday, 02/6/2013 @ 13:35pm |
Adele is going to put out a new album this year. Hopefully it will give her a boost. But we don't know when Posted by Karl Singleton on Monday, 03/17/2014 @ 23:06pm |
8 million albums sold so far for the classic R&B sounding yet alternitive like "25" penned by adele herself and the best writers in the industry, and it hasn't even been a month. Music critics all over the world are praising her for being the woman that saved the music business and broke numerous records, I look forward to her domination of 2016 the same way "21" dominated 2011. By 2017 she will oficcially be the biggest trend setting musical phenomenon of the 2010s, maybe even 21st century so far. Her and Pharell are the only locks that come to mind for the 2010s. If the rock hall is still running by the time Adele is eligible, she is a solid lock. WELL DONE ADELE. Posted by amy on Friday, 12/11/2015 @ 16:41pm |
add "set fire to the rain", "rumor has it", "make you feel my love", "hometown glory"(iffy), "hello", "when we were young", and whatever other songs become huge influential hits ("a million years ago", "i miss you", "all i ask") to essential songs please Posted by eh on Sunday, 01/10/2016 @ 22:02pm |
A brilliant, heartfelt artist- honestly there is no telling what Adele will do in the decades upcoming but even if her remaining output doesn't stand up like here trio of 19, 21 and 25 or even of she retire from recording music before the decade is over like Billy Joel or take a Sade-type of hiatus (which i wouldn't put either past her) she's define;t going to get in within the first two years of eligibility (2033-36) because her songs literally defined a generation and the magnificence and timelessness of 21 will be on the minds of the world forever. Long live Adele. Posted by ABJ on Wednesday, 06/17/2020 @ 16:47pm |
I was always hesitant to accept Adele as the prodigal talent she is until I matured a bit more and could recognize the brilliance she brings to the music industry Posted by jacob on Saturday, 10/10/2020 @ 02:14am |
first-year inductee at this point Posted by hai on Tuesday, 11/16/2021 @ 15:21pm |
I'm a 25 year old singer/songwriter, I've grown up to this woman's music for 10 years now. Her latest work, 30 in my opinion is one of the most important and soon to be influential records ever made. Many critics have stated she saved popular music in more ways than one. Adele's 30 has became the highest selling record of the year in 3 days. She deserves every bit of attention she's about to get for this record, and our culture desperately needs to recognize the significance of using real instruments and putting real art/emotion into music so people physically buy it again like they used to, out of respect for the art rather than just the convenience of having it on a Spotify account. She's the definition of a lock to what this institution stands for to such a degree that inducting her before she's even eligible should be in question. I wish I could go back to the first time I heard "to be loved" "my little love" and "love is a game", what a life altering moment that was. It reminded me of Kate bush, Elton John, Donny Hathaway, Nina Simone, Jeff buckley, nick drake, al green, among many other artists I hold dear. Her influence is the future of music and I hope her prime continues long into the next 2 decades. This relatable woman is my biggest inspiration as a singer and one of the most important acts in music ever. She gives people like me hope that music like this can ever be allowed to exist in a modern music industry run by some of the most evil people in the world destroying and demeaning our culture. That she can break through all the barriers of a billboard top 200 void of double the depth each year, to be heard and chosen by so many people makes her a Complete undeniable legend that crosses multiple generations. 1960s-now shed of been just as big. Timeless. Posted by Mikhail on Tuesday, 11/23/2021 @ 20:01pm |
