Do I think Amy will get in the RRHOF? Its too soon to tell. While I do think 'Back to Black' was one of the greatest records to come out last decade, her career and life were cut way too short. She did set an image and her own style, and I'm not sure who her followers are. She did kind of start the British soul revival, but I don't hear it going on today. We shall find out in 2027...

I don't give her much of a chance, the body of work being so small, her dying months, years were pretty damn rough, public and I think moving forward that might be a real hinder to more and more noms. Just tragic, she could have been a contender.

She's a lock. Her two albums are beloved and widely acclaimed, and her tragic death only adds to her story.

Think Janis. Small discography, huge legend.

Reading all the comments from 2007 talking about Amy Winehouse's impending death just gives me the creeps. May Amy rest in peace and yeah she's certainly going to be in the Hall some day. She's pretty influential.

Nirvana released three studio albums. And, let's be honest (and I say this as an ardent fan and proud Washingtonian who met the band) only two albums of note. Kurt's last few years and months were extremely rough and his public image is dingy, one might say grungy.
Amy is no different. Two albums, one of true cultural impact. After Back to Black, studios clamored for female artists. Adele's 21 only skyrocketed to the top of the charts in the wake of Amy's passing. Gaga also only made it big in Amy's clear cut path. Both them and dozens of other artists have claimed Amy as an influence. She's a shoo-in.

Amy deserves her place in the stars. A voice and writing ability comes along once in a century. She was pure pain, genius, and self destructive.

Amy was and still a unicorn. Her soul music and the unique one of a kind voice, plus the controversial personality and the complexity of her life and death definitely gives her every right to be in RRHoF
