She's just another talentless hack who has no musical gifts and after seeing her argue with the other judges on American Idol has failed to impress me still! All and all, I would say no to Nicki if she was ever to get into the Rock Hall of Fame.

GOD FORBID THIS FROM HAPPENING!!

I'd rather put a drill in my ears than listen to this talentless idiot.

I feel that she very much deserves this award although Nicki has always had this hate train and she's been through so much in the industry and you know what? F anyone that calls her talentless she is the most talented black woman I've ever known... And haters gon hate and truth always overcomes Nicki Minaj has a way of switching styles according to the music genre of any artist she's collaborating with and oozes professionalism at the same time and if y'all are so sure that she's talent less why don't you go out there into the music industry and see how easy it is to give your all for people and make it as a full fledged woman just to be called relentless by a bunch of buffoons

Yes she does, because Grammys is always blocking her. Also, she's been lasting for about 15 years now, and she's still relevant.

People judge her off of one or two songs they Know from her but she is so talented. And you won't see that talent only in songs like Anaconda. You have to look at her whole career and everything she has done.
She has some amazing songs+she broke various records& big rappers like jayz +rick ross respect her. Listen to Pink Print. Its full of sad/real songs. And I am sure many people who hate her don't know this side of her.

And I feel like there is a double standard.. why is it a problem when nicki does a video like anaconda but when men have videos like that its ok its cool.
All in all, she does have talent and she knows that and nobody can take that away from her. And i do pray for her that she achieves more than she already has

I think so, because if her success and longevity while being in the industry

Yes I think that Nicki should because she has been blackballed in the industry but is still dominating

Nicki deserves it. She herself revived female rap, she showed that a female rapper can put out and album and have no sexual references and still be successful. Nicki has been successful in hardcore rap, pop, r&b, rock and edm. She writes her own raps but her deep stuff gets overlooked and it's unfair.

A lot of people say Nicki copied Kim and stuff but what I don't understand is how she copied Kim and Nicki been in the game 13 years and still breaking records Nicki is the greatest females rapper ever she has created and brought to life female rap after it died and has crossed over to and dominated the charts in pop,r&b,Latin, and many more genres

Why is this even a question? What does she or her music have to with ROCK N ROLL? Come on people, please go and establish a Twerk your ass Hall of Fame or something and nominate her there, leave rock n' roll alone, please!

The amount of genuine hatred goes to show how successful this black woman is. White men have no say with this woman. And shouldn't have one in Hip Hop either. The most successful female rapper deserves this title. Whether y'all like it or not

If this happens, The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame will lose its credibility.

Give it a rest already. We get you think the hall should just cater to the "general public" which is mostly middle aged rock fans that want to relive their youth. If you want to talk consumerism, the best thing they can do is reach as many demographics as possible to remain relevant.

Posted by Greg on Thursday, 07/22/2021 @ 09:37am

That previous comment was not me. I still think that relying on one demographic is not the best long term strategy to stay relevant in the long term. They would go bankrupt once that demographic dies off. Reach out to as demographics as possible not just one.

Real Greg,

You're basically confronting a "short term versus long term" conundrum. It's a tricky situation, because without the short term, you can't have a long term. You need to think of both. The Hall has stated its desire to progress and reach out into the future. They want to reach out to other demographics, but what the conversation seems to dance around and ignore, is that the one demographic is the one that has the money. It's sickening, but it's reality. If you can't convince them of the beneift of making the convsersation two-way, instead of that demographic condescending to the other and using their dollars as credentials to condescend, you're going to have a tough go of it, and make have to make the odd concession.

As for Ms. Minaj, she is a bit of a shock when you first encounter her. First I heard her was on Trey Songz' "Bottoms Up" and was not a fan of her verse. It's grown on me, as has she as an artist, but we may just have to wait for the deaths of those who hear her once and then retreat into their blanket fort made of Bad Company and Foreigner LPs before any progress can be made.
