I absolutely adore Siouxsie and the Banshees, they were a band that was extremely influential to me at a young age. I cannot think of a single reason in my mind why they wouldnt get in over any metal or prog band but alas that will most likely never happen. The day the Banshees infiltrate the hall is a day where Devo and The Cramps are also there. Sadly the odds arent fairing to well.

I remember the very first time I saw them. I believe it was their first US appearance at a club in NYC called the RITZ around "8! or "82. They had just put out the album "JUJU" It was unlike anything I had ever seen or heard before. Very dark and gloomy. Only around 100 people at that time but they were already known in the UK. She didn't talk to the audience except to tell us to "SHUT UP YOU CREEPS" She bounced around the stage through lots of stage fog and bright white lights, playing one song to next, threw down the mic and left the stage never to do a encore. Right then and there I said to myself "THIS IS MY BAND" have never missed a "Banshees" "Creatures" or solo "Siouxsie" show since. Many imitators followed in her wake. She needs to be in The Music Hall of Fame!

I hope SATB would be nominated soon and be voted in. Only about half of the major female musicians who started out in the Punk era have made it in so far. Therefor, if Patti Smith, Debbie Harry, Tina Weymouth, Joan Jett, and Chrissie Hynde have been inducted then Siouxsie Sioux, Kate Bush, Grace Jones, Lene Lovich, and Nina Hagen should def be the next round of ladies up for consideration.

I know SATB will be coming in the hall of fame. I mean they have most iconic songs like metal postcard, monitor, peek a boo, monitor, head cut, scarecrow, Arabian nights, the Lord's prayer, placebo effect and many many more.

Now that The Cure have opened the post-punk floodgates, the Banshees need to be close behind. Along with JD/NO and others.

Siouxsie and the Banshees are amazing - beloved in the underground, punk progenitors, and among the best and most influential of the post punk bands.

All members of the band are phenomenal - Siouxsie is a force of nature and an amazing musician/singer/performer, what else can I say, she's an icon - John Mc Geoch (rip 2004) was an amazing guitarist; McKay and John Valentine Carruthers (stepping into shoes filled by McGeoch and Smith - can you imagine) as well as Jon Klein - all outstanding guitar players. Severin is an underrated bassist - he's a multi instrumentalist and his parts underpin so many fantastic songs and unique style and the way he hits the strings - and Budgie - among the most underrated drummers of all time, the best drummer in punk/post punk bar none and up there with the greats - amazing and inventive - and if you've seen them live he's a joy to hear and watch.

Then you have the songs, the albums... did they ever make an album like the previous one? No - always doing new and cool stuff

They don't make bands like Siouxsie and the Banshees anymore - and when I look at how much they have influenced music and culture without ever compromising their artistic integrity - just on the surface I'll name Pj Harvey, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Hole, and many others - not to mention LCD Soundsystem, the Cure, - they influenced their contemporaries as well as future artists...their influence is everywhere.

For all of these reasons and 100 more Siouxsie and the Banshees should be inducted into the hall of fame - because they already are written into the hall of fame in the fabric of time and reality itself.

Siouxsie & The Banshees influenced countless of alternative bands from Joy Division/New Order to Bloc Party, I would like to see them getting nominated one day but it might not happen. I mean they inducted The Cure & Depeche Mode few years back but it might not be an guarantee. Well Duran Duran is nominated & subsequently might/will be inducted this year so this might change around for the Banshees as well for others like JD/NO, The Smiths & Bauhaus.

I will treat The Rock N Roll Hall of Fame the same way they treat Siouxsie and the Banshees. Until then get inducted, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is snubbed!

absoltutly deserving, awesome group and siouxsie is one of the greatest vocal talents ever! not as widely known as DM, NIN and The Cure are tho, once JD/NO are in theyre surefire to follow, and hopefully lead to a bauhaus, Damned, or Television induction

A long shot. I hope they will be nominated.

Their influence to goth rock, alternative rock, dream pop and britpop is hard to be ignored.

They have influenced Joy Division / New Order, U2, the Cure, Jesus and Mary Chain, Jane's Addiction, Radiohead, PJ Harvey, Sinéad O'Connor, Garbage, the Smiths, Depeche Mode, My Bloody Valentine, the Smashing Pumpkins, just to name a few.

They are rr hof worthy without doubt.

Just googled to see what year they were inducted, absolutely amazed how they still haven't been inducted.

This one seems like a no-brainer, there's entire sub-genres of rock that exist because of Siouxsie & the Banshees, yet no one sounded quite like them since or before.
Siouxsie's voice is absolutely iconic and she's easily one of most import women in rock.
Her style contribution to rock culture alone should warrant recognition considering every chick at a rock/metal show these days is basically emulating her aesthetic.
