SRV & Double Trouble AND Alvin Lee & TYA not in the so-called Rock & Roll Hall of Fame... Posted by Frenchman on Saturday, 03/16/2013 @ 22:26pm |
The Rock Hall inducted Freddie King and Albert King first because they want to induct Terry Kath, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Kurt Cobain next, all in the same year. You'll see! Chicago, Nirvana and Stevie Ray Vaughan will all be on the ballot next year. Posted by Roy on Friday, 04/12/2013 @ 23:18pm |
I agree with sooooo many of the comments here - Stevie, along with Double Trouble (which he would have wanted) deserves to be inducted in the HOF!!! He was self-taught and passionate about his craft from a very young age. Even after he mastered the instrument, he was always in "learning mode" and never took his gift for granted Stevie was not only a world-class guitar player, but he could sing, too. Stevie loved and respected his fans, and though he struggled with alcohol and drugs for years, there was only one time that was ever late for a gig. Not only was he an amazing guitarist, he was a beautiful human being. He loved the music, he loved his band, and he loved and respected his fans. He also did whatever he could to help others overcome their demons as he had four years before he died. He's an American icon and stands head to head with the greatest players who ever lived! He deserves to be inducted! Posted by Christine Ward on Saturday, 04/13/2013 @ 09:56am |
Yepper. ASAP. Posted by Crayzay on Saturday, 04/13/2013 @ 12:47pm |
Honestly shocked he isn't already there. He will be, eventually. Posted by Sunking278 on Wednesday, 04/24/2013 @ 07:15am |
A Terry Kath-Stevie Ray Vaughan collaboration would have been awesome! Posted by Roy on Thursday, 06/20/2013 @ 10:16am |
Stevie Ray Vaughan should be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame simply because he deserves it. He's one of the greatest blues guitarist ever. :) Posted by Carol on Wednesday, 07/3/2013 @ 10:04am |
Albert King was officially inducted last year and since he was Stevie's mentor it only makes sense that Stevie Ray be inducted this year. Posted by Karen on Wednesday, 07/31/2013 @ 13:10pm |

It's sad that such an amazing musician such as Stevie Ray is not in the HOF already.....He revived a dying art form known as the Blues and made it accessable to a new generation....I would like the HOF do the right thing and induct this legendary artist Posted by Michael Jones on Friday, 09/6/2013 @ 22:20pm |
I am surprised and shocked Stevie Ray Vaughan is not in the Hall of Fame since many years! How could he been overseen/overheard??? He was so unique, original and outstanding brilliant. Technically perfect and played with so much soul and dedication, guitar playing was his life. He even called his guitar his wife. Stevie Ray Vaughan brought the Blues to people that never listened to Blues before (me is the best example). His way to play, his tone was so special, you know it's him after the first few notes. If Stevie doesn't get his deserved place into the Hall of Fame, the whole Hall of Fame makes a joke of itself. One thing I know, there must have gone something terribly wrong. Impossible to leave him out otherwise. OR: Is it because he was an alcoholic and drug user for many years? Just wondering... Posted by Gabriele Schwanke on Monday, 09/23/2013 @ 04:07am |

They passed on Stevie Ray Vaughan this year. Shocker! Posted by Roy on Wednesday, 10/16/2013 @ 09:05am |
No SRV (and DT) again? Is the RRHOF waiting for the 25th year anniversary of his tragic passing? Posted by Mosey A. Long on Monday, 10/21/2013 @ 15:27pm |
I'm 15 and I love SRV and do think he deserves it. But.... he wasn't all that original. He really was kind of a Jimi Hendrix/Albert King ripoff. That is what is holding him back. But hey, ZZ Top waited this long and got inducted in 2004. However, they were original. I do think his time has come. But he isn't original which is what is holding him back Posted by Karl Singleton on Thursday, 03/13/2014 @ 20:18pm |
Stevie Ray Vaughan is a Legend, and should have been inducted years ago, and @ Gabriele Schwanke, please do some research about SRV's sobriety and the other RRHOF inductee's that are dead because of drug and alcohol abuse issues, your OR: is a moot point....geez. Posted by Ron Blase on Sunday, 05/18/2014 @ 09:20am |
After watching the E Street band/Hall&Oats yawn feast last night, I wonder what the hell these people at the HoF are thinking. Wouldn't it be better to honor SRV's music with DT backing up The likes of Eric Clapton and/or other jam band/blues guitarists that he paved the way for? The middle of last night"s concert seemed to go about like what PBS shows when fundraising, like when they preempt the shows you tuned in to watch for a concert by a group you hadn't thought about it in years. Then, like a PBS fundraiser, they constantly cut away for speeches by people who say the same thing over and over. I guess the folks at PBS and HBO have it figured this is the kind of programming worth paying for. News flash: it fell slight slightly short of Game of Thrones. It wasn't even Nova. So again I say, put SRV and DT in the HoF. Please. If nothing else, just so we can have a concert worth watching. Just nobody tell John Mayer. Posted by Channing on Sunday, 06/1/2014 @ 12:53pm |

And also, Stevie Ray didn't really do much for ROCK. He did a lot for the BLUES but not much for ROCK. But he did influence Pearl Jam's lead guitarist Posted by Karl Singleton on Tuesday, 07/22/2014 @ 19:07pm |
Okay, I'm convinced that this Karl cat is a troll, intentionally posting stupid stuff. This has to be a joke. Posted by Philip on Tuesday, 07/22/2014 @ 20:26pm |
Phillip, you and Andrew both. I WANT Stevie Ray Vaughan to be inducted. But he didn't do much as far as influencing. In fact he influenced John Mayer. Who in my opinion is AWFUL. His only good song is "Waiting For The World To Change". Also he influenced Kenny Wayne Shepard. Who is HIGHLY forgetable. I find Shepard BORING. SRV's style was unique. But I heard someone say he played a lot like Albert King. Which is why I might have said "he was kind of a Jimi Hendrix/Albert King ripoff". So he did influence. But didn't influence anyone who is MEMORABLE. And that's why I think he might not get in. Posted by Karl Singleton on Friday, 07/25/2014 @ 19:56pm |
Karl, when are you going to stop attacking me for that comment I posted on the Katy Perry page? My point was that Katy doesn't belong in the Hall because she hasn't done anything innovative or new as a performer. Madonna started the whole whore pop star look, so what Katy's doing is just copying what has already been done. Posted by Andrew on Friday, 07/25/2014 @ 20:31pm |
I'm no fan of John Mayer either, but he IS an extremely talented guitarist. The point is, if you think Vaughan didn't influence a ton of rock guitarists, and even the fact that you need to differentiate that much between rock and roll and blues (when the Hall very much does not), then you're showing your ignorance on the subject matter. Posted by Philip on Friday, 07/25/2014 @ 22:17pm |
WTF??!! How did you find me, Andrew??? For your information I like Stevie Ray BETTER than Katy Posted by Karl Singleton on Friday, 07/25/2014 @ 22:18pm |
I meant to say KAty can write her own songs Posted by Karl Singleton on Friday, 07/25/2014 @ 22:21pm |
Let's just drop the Katy Perry subject, Karl. We said what we needed to say about her, now let's just leave it be. Posted by Andrew on Friday, 07/25/2014 @ 22:53pm |
First, I want to know your thoughts on the acts on my list. Posted by Karl Singleton on Friday, 07/25/2014 @ 23:36pm |
For the most part, Karl, I like almost all the acts on your list expect for Kelly Clarkson, mainly because I personally don't care for her music, but you enjoy her, so I'm won't get on your case about it. Posted by Andrew on Saturday, 07/26/2014 @ 02:01am |
The album covers all read Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble. This page may have to be changed when the nomination is announced as Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble. The Rock Hall better remember to nominate them that way!! Posted by Roy on Saturday, 07/26/2014 @ 06:20am |

Not having SRV and double trouble in the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame is equal to not having Babe Ruth in the Baseball Hall of Fame. SRV was self taught and brought back the blues from obscurity. If you ask anyone with any rock knowledge they will say SRV is a no brainer. Seriously you have Neil Young in there twice but no SRV???? SRV and Double trouble are Long overdue! And I totally agree with Philip that SRV's blues influence definitely counts as part of the rock tradition in and of itself, especially considering rock and blues were intertwined from day one. Posted by hallman on Sunday, 09/21/2014 @ 14:53pm |
Happy 60th Birthday Stevie. On this day I can't help but be happy for all the great music you left us; yet incredibly sad for all the greatness you never had the time to achieve, and for all the great music that was never played. SRV needs to be nominated and inducted TODAY! He is simply one of the greatest guitarists ever. (And his singing is underrated as well). We miss you Stevie, and need you to achieve the Hall of Fame status you deserve along with Double Trouble. Posted by Mosey A. Long on Friday, 10/3/2014 @ 10:52am |

Bonnie Raitt will vote for Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble Posted by Roy on Wednesday, 10/29/2014 @ 08:41am |
Did Bonnie tell you that over dinner last night, or are you assuming that because she plays guitar in a bluesy style and that SRV played blues guitar, then she has no choice? Assuming she even bothers to open her ballot and send it in, of course. Posted by Dezmond on Wednesday, 10/29/2014 @ 09:32am |
Uhh Dezmond, she did a tribute to Stevie Ray in 1996 when she covered "Pride and Joy" Posted by Karl Singleton on Saturday, 11/1/2014 @ 13:25pm |

Only discovered SRV 2 years ago! Keep the music alive, He is definately the Greatest of all Time. No one else like him. If you've never seen him play, treat yourself to the best and keep his talent going for future generations. I love him and his beautiful story of triumph over alchohol and drugs to a clean and sober life of humility and how he helped and loved others to overcome their addictions too.
