Did they innovate? YES! They helped bring the dangers of Sexually Transmitted Diseases to the forefront of our culture, they gave it media attention, before more numbers and stats could.. They also set a trend that brought back the black girl groups, and allowed them to transcend hip hop and R&B. They had an agenda, they had a mission, and proved that its not just about selling records. that you need to use your fame for good!
I say put them in!

If the nomination committee gets desperate to induct a girl group I guess TLC would fit the bill. Unfortunately for them, there are quite a few girl groups ahead of them.....

They already have inducted a girl group "The Ronnettes"
But enough of that TLC's music was a good part of your childhood if you were a 90's kid Their songs all had a meaning behind them, and Lisa "Left Eye" Lopez was one of the best Female MC's of all time... The group is actually still active believe it or not... Most recently Appearing on J.Coles Crooked Smile (minus Left Eye who sadly for the music world died in a 2002 car crash) Even though they only released 3 albums I would say that TLC will get in the hall eventually.

Absolutely! TLC needs to be inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. They are the US's highest selling girl group, 2nd highest selling girl group in the world. They broke gender and racial barriers. Their album 'CrazySexyCool' is one of the few albums to diamond certified. Their albums 'Ooooooohhh on the TLC Tip', 'Fanmail' and '3D' all went multi-platium, and their recent album 'TLC' debuted at #1 on the independent charts. They have 4 #1 singles, (Creep, Waterfalls, No Scrubs and Unpretty).

They broke the mode for girl groups by infusing hip hop, rnb and funk to create a sound that has both soul and crossover appeal. They ushered in the 'tomboy' trend among female rnb artist. Their music was fearless and they have never shied away from addressing controversial topics, like the HIV/AIDS epidemic and gang violence with "Waterfalls" and social issues with songs like "Unpretty".

In 2013, their Vh1 biopoc 'CrazySexyCool' re introduced to a new generation and kicked off the current trend we see now of 80s and 90s rnb and hip hop artist doing biopics. TLC legends, icons and trendsetter. #Facts. It's time that their contribution to music is properly recognized. Induct them into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

They should be inducted! These were three women that sang about topics in the 90s that no other female artist had the cojones to touch! No one else was trying to touch any of those issues prior in the up front way they did—aside from Pink! They influenced many female artists—and not just in the rap community. They influenced women to be strong!
